On Monday 18th
December at 5pm, the Taff’s Well ‘light parade’ will take place. The parade
will take a ‘reverse’ route this year, starting at the church (where
refreshments will be served and a nativity scene will be on show), passing
through the village before ending at the school in time for the junior carol
concert at 6pm (details regarding this concert are to follow). The church, who has organised the event, has once again asked the
children to take part in a very special Christmas Competition.
The
children are asked to design and make their very own lantern for the light
parade. It should be easy to carry and contain a real light (battery powered
only please, no naked flames – please ask if you need help with this). The
design of the lantern should reflect the themes of Christmas or the Nativity.
They can be as simple or as extravagant as you like, imagination is the only
limit!
All
children who have created a lantern will be invited to take part in the parade
(with an accompanying adult) and there will be special prizes for those judged
as the top 3 in terms of creativity and imagination.
Enjoy being creative!
