St David's Day Fun

Yesterday was St David's Day and usual, we marked it with a host of fun activities followed by our annual Eisteddfod in the afternoon (more of that to follow...)

All children and staff came to school dressed in Welsh themed clothes - we had a huge array of traditional Welsh ladies and gents, dragons, daffodils, leeks and of course the Welsh rugby kit! The children spent the morning taking part in a rotation of art and craft activities, hoping to win a prize in one of the afternoon's many competitions (again, more of that later). We had welsh cake making, art creating, Welsh Lovespoon designing, learning about the life of miners as well as still life drawing and even some impressive graphic design using IT. A fantastic Welsh day was had by all as can be seen in the pictures below…
