Following two wins for the Ffynnon Taf rugby team in late January (both 30 – 15 victories against Maesycoed and Heol Y Celyn Primaries) the next match was against local rivals Gwaelod Y Garth school. This was held on the school field last Wednesday (March 10th). In perfect weather conditions the team played bravely against much bigger opposition. Captain Jesse Leach was man of the match and he led by example battling hard until the end. The team was missing it’s scrum half Harri Beese through injury but pacey Tom Cattle raced in for a hat trick of tries. William Pugh also powered over for a second half try too. Despite scoring these four excellent tries the final score was 24 – 35 to Gwaelod. Well done to all the players including Bradley Mclellan, Joel Dyke, Nathan O Brien, Ben Lam, Deon Mota, Saleem Domun, Ashley Dorsett Morgan and Ethan Hunt.
