Dan-y-Wenallt Day Three

Children were up bright and early for the final day in Dan-y-Wenallt. Following another hearty breakfast and a clean up operation of all rooms (under the watchful eye of Miss Morris), the children took part in a morning of survival skills. First, they learned all about what you need in a rucksack if you are to survive being trapped in the elements. Next, they were challenged to create a a shelter using only wood and tarpaulin before the infamous 'Dan-y-Wenallt storm' arrived threatening to destroy their creations. All teams excelled and not one shelter buckled under the torrential downpour. Finally, the children took part in a water challenge where they had to transport water from a well to a container by balancing jugs of water on their heads. Great (and very wet) fun was had by all and the teamwork on show was teriffic.

It was then time to eat our lunch and bid a fond farewell to Dan-y-Wenallt. The children had a fantastic experience and showed what an amazing group they are - both Mr Worth and Miss Morris were blown away by their behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the stay. They did us proud!!
