Friday's St David's Day celebrations culminated in a fantastic Eisteddfod in the afternoon. Staff busily judged all the amazing art and craftwork that was completed during the morning and awarded prizes for first to fourth for each year group. In addition, Mr Brown announced the winners of the poetry competition for each class as well as the 'Mini Bard' (for our up and coming writers in Foundation Phase) and the overall school Bard. The title of 'Mini Bard' was this year awarded to a very surprised but desrving Kaden Jones while this year's school Bard was announced as Thea Davies from Dosbarth Llew. Thea was presented with the chair and closed the eisteddfod with her wonderful poem which we will post here soon. The overall house winner for this year was revealed to be Melyn, but a huge well done to all of the children for their efforts - we were so proud of all of you!
Throughout the ceremony and between prize giving, children took part in poetry recitals and performed a variety of Welsh songs including of course, the National Anthem. The singing would not have been out of place in the Millennium Stadium! What a great way to end our St David's Day celebrations.
