The school will be subject to a Local Authority Review this coming Thursday and Friday (6th and 7th February). This is normal practice for RCT and is part of the school improvement cycle which requires schools to be reviewed locally when they are due for Estyn Inspection within the next two years. The review itself will run in the form of a scaled back inspection with the focus being on lesson observations, scrutiny of children's work, listening to learners and interviews with teachers and members of the management team. The LA representatives will offer feedback that highlights any strengths and give recommendations for further development.
As a school, we are looking forward to showing the LA the variety of good practice that goes on here and the excellent relationships that exist between the teachers and our children. We have explained to the children that visitors are coming to see how we work together as one school community and they are also looking forward to demonstrating just what they are capable of.
Although it goes without saying, could you please make every effort to ensure that children are in school on time during these two days as disruptions to teaching will be noted during the observations. We have also reminded the children of the importance of wearing school uniform and would appreciate this being reinforced at home.
Thanks for your support once again and I look forward to reporting back the results from what I'm sure will be a positive review.
