Eco Day 2013

Today was Eco Day at Ffynnon Taf! Children and staff came to school dressed either as 'Eco Warriors' in recycled costume or in the colours of the Eco flag. Led by Mrs Bailey and the Eco Committee, each class were tasked with developing an area of our Eco action plan. This included surveying the transport the children use to travel to school, investigating use of fruit in healthy smoothies, cleaning up the school garden, evaluating how well we recycle our waste in school, analysing last term's energy use and deciding which class were our first 'Eco Warriors' of the month (and winners of a very impressive recycled trophy!) for having the smallest class carbon footprint. Shockingly, Mr Worth's room had the largest amount of wasted energy but the Eco-committee have promised to help him reduce this over the coming weeks!

The day ended with a whole school review and the awarding of prizes for best Eco costumes. All agreed it was a most worthwhile day and one which will surely become an annual fixture. Check out some of the pictures below and on individual class blogs...
