Today the school was awarded the Basic Skills Quality Standard for its work in the teaching and development of literacy and numeracy. This new standard replaces the old quality mark that the school has achieved on three separate occasions in the past. A Basic Skills assessor spent the day in school observing lessons, talking to teachers, parents and governors and studying samples of our work. She was extremely impressed with what she saw and I'd like to congratulate all our staff and children for the hard work they put into English and Maths lessons on a daily basis!
