Operation Christmas Child

This Christmas we will be supporting The Samaritan's Operation Christmas Child appeal. In tomorrow morning's assembly, I will be showing the children a short film to launch this shoebox appeal in school. Each child will also bring home a leaflet with more details of the campaign as well as instructions on how to take part. In short, participants are asked to fill a shoe box with well looked after gifts to suit either a boy or a girl. This could be toys, stationary, certain toiletries or sweets (the leaflet contains a more comprehensive list).

We understand this is an expensive time of year for everyone so have chosen an appeal that focuses more on gifted items than on money (although there is a small donation required to put towards shipping). Obviously there is absolutely no obligation to take part though we did think this a very good way for our children to learn about the plight of others and to empathise with and help children of their own age.

If you do wish to support this appeal, look out for the details coming home with children tomorrow. All shoe boxes should be wrapped and labeled, as detailed in the leaflet, and returned to school by Friday 5th November.
Many Thanks

Mr Worth
