Today we celebrated the achievements of some of our children in our first ever SMART pupil of the week assembly. This will now take place every Friday and will allow us to reflect on and celebrate all the different ways we can achieve - both in school and out. Each class teacher will select a child per week that they feel has excelled in one of the SMART areas and these will be presented with a special certificate during the assembly. The SMART areas are:
Word Smart
Number Smart
Body Smart
2D/3D Smart
Nature Smart
People Smart
Self Smart
Practical Smart & ICT Smart
I would very much recommend chatting to your children about these and encouraging them to identify areas as strengths and those that they would like to be better in. Even from a young age it is important that children have some understanding of their own learning and how to improve.
