We siad goodbye yesterday to our visitor from Uganda - Mr. Vincent Matanda who is the headteacher of our partner school Buchunya Primary. He came over in a group of 10 teachers and headteachers to Pontypridd. Whilst he was here visited classes, talked to children, and attended assemblies and our Sports Day where he was extremely proud to be able to hand out medals to all the children.
We were able to send back with him another suitcase full of the pens, pencils and paper you all collected in February. Also, he was extremely grateful to receive an old laptop that was no longer in use at Ffynnon Taf that could be put to great use in his own school.
I am very proud of the fact that this partnership has been established. It has built strong friendships and developed our children's awareness and understanding of other races and cultures. I hope it continues in the future.
