As mentioned in the recent
diary dates, we will be holding our PACT week after the half term holiday and
can now give you notice of specific dates and times for each class. The idea of PACT is to give every child the
opportunity to take part in a lesson or activity with a parent or guardian.
Following previous sessions involving music, pottery, mosaic making, yoga and
scientific investigation, we have decided this year to focus on ICT and in
particular, coding.
Each child will have the
opportunity to invite a parent/carer/grandparent/older sibling etc to a session
where they will learn about coding and work with microbits. The sessions are
timetabled as follows and will be led by Tom Lewis from Halo who is currently
supporting us with the development of google classrooms and the roll out of the
DCF (Digital Competence Framework).

Due to numbers in the
school and restrictions for each session, we are only able to invite one adult
per child for a session. Obviously, those parents with more than one child in
the school will be invited to attend a session with each child. The
children will bring home a personal invitation before the end of term that will
include the specific time and further detail of the activity you are invited to
attend. Refreshments will be available after each session.
I hope many of you will be able to take the
opportunity to spend some quality learning time with your children.
