Nursery Arrangements for 2015/16

Following the news that RCT is cutting its funding of nursery provision to half time, we are pleased to be able to confirm our nursery arrangements for the 2015/16 academic year. The provision for September is as follows:

• All children in our nursery class, Dosbarth Teigr (3 and 4 year olds) will receive free full time education.

 

• The mornings will continue to be funded by the council, however, the afternoon sessions will be paid through the school budget. The morning session will be run by a class teacher and support staff. Sessions will continue in the afternoon under the supervision of the support staff.

• The class teacher will be charged with planning the sessions as well as assessing the children and reporting to parents. Further details of staffing and structure of the day etc will be provided at the Nursery Induction days in June.

This provision reflects the school's commitment to nursery age education and our belief that the first few years of school are vital for laying the foundations of successful learning. While this approach may not be financially viable in the future, it gives us time to research and create a more sustainable solution.
