Sponsored Challenges 2014

This year our ‘Healthy Day’ will be held on Friday 4th July. As usual, we will be taking part in sponsored challenges to raise funds to put towards new resources for our school. Last year, our 'Castle to Castle' hike, 'Wheel-a-thon' and 'Sponsored Bounce' raised almost £2000 and helped fund playground equipment and iPads. This year we have some brand new challenges to look forward to!

Foundation Phase children (Teigr, Eliffant, Cangarw and Coala) will take part in a 'Rainbow Run' within the school grounds. Each child will wear a white t-shirt and as they complete each stage of the run these will be marked in different colours. The children should finish the challenge with a multi-coloured t-shirt as evidence of all the hard work they've put in to complete the challenge.

Meanwhile, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Twcan, Rhino Gwyn and Llew) will be extending last year's enjoyable hike by walking from Sophia Gardens (last year's finish line) along the Taff Trail to Cardiff Bay and around the barrage.

Further details of each of these activities including any equipment/clothing needed will be sent out shortly. If for any reason you do not wish your child to take part in their class activity, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. We will also be looking for parent volunteers to walk with us on the day (and indeed collect their own sponsors if they wish). If you fancy getting involved and making it a family event, let Mrs. James or myself know.

As usual, children will be reminded of safe sponsor collection in an assembly. All forms and money should be returned to school by the morning of the 4th July.
