We are pleased to announce
that this year’s PACT day will be held on Friday 12th July. The idea of PACT is to give every child in the
school the opportunity to take part in a learning activity with a parent or
guardian. Following previous successful sessions of PE and Art, and with
Numeracy a key area for the school this year, we have decided on the theme of
‘Maths is Fun.’
Our Lower Foundation Phase
department will be running their own Family Learning Day with maths games as
the focus. The other classes will each receive an ‘outdoor maths’ lesson that
will mix basic maths concepts with outdoor adventurous activities and problem
solving. These sessions will be led by our local PESS officer. Year 6 have
been working on creating their own maths orienteering routes during this term and will run their own independent session
on Monday 15th July. For advance notice, the timetable for the days
looks as follows:

Due to numbers in the
school and restrictions for each session, we are only able to invite one adult
per child for a session. Obviously, those parents with more than one child in
the school will be invited to attend a session with each child. The
children will bring home a personal invitation before the end of term that will
include the day, time and further detail of the activity you are invited to
attend. Refreshments will be available after each session.
I hope many of you will be able to take the
opportunity to spend some quality learning time with your children.
