On
Monday 10th December at 4pm, The first ever Taff’s Well ‘light
parade’ will take place. The parade will start on the school yard, pass through
the village before ending at a special Nativity scene at the church. Rev. Sue
O’Hare, who has organised the event, will be in touch with further details soon
but in the meantime has asked the children to take part in a very special
Christmas Competition.
The
children are asked to design and make their very own lantern for the light
parade. It should be easy to carry and contain a real light (battery powered
only please, no naked flames – please ask if you need help with this). The
design of the lantern should reflect the themes of Christmas or the Nativity.
They can be as simple or as extravagant as you like, imagination is the only limit!
All
children who have created a lantern will be invited to take part in the parade (with
an accompanying adult) and there will be special prizes for those judged as the
top 3 in terms of creativity and imagination. All completed entries should be
brought to school on the morning of Friday
7th December for judging before the actual parade on the Monday.
