This year our ‘Healthy Week’ will be held on the week commencing 10th June. To end the week we will be holding sponsored events on Friday 14th June to raise funds to put towards our new playground and iPads for the school. Last year, our Taff Trail Ramble and climb of Pen y Fan raised almost £2500 and helped kickstart the fundraising for the new early years playground. This year we have some brand new challenges to look forward to!
Nursery and Reception (Teigr and Eliffant) will take part in a topic-linked 'sponsored bounce' within the school grounds while Years 1 and 2 (Cangarw and Coala) will complete a 'wheel-a-thon' using bikes or scooters on a course created around the school.
Meanwhile, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Twcan, Rhino Gwyn and Llew) will be pushing themselves by completing an all day Taff Trail Hike which will take them, on foot, from Tongwynlais to Cardiff Castle.
Further details of each of these activities including any equipment/clothing needed will be sent out shortly. If for any reason you do not wish your child to take part in their class activity, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. We will also be looking for parent volunteers to walk with us on the day (and indeed collect their own sponsors if they wish). If you fancy getting involved and making it a family event, let Mrs. James or myself know.
As usual, children will be reminded of safe sponsor collection in an assembly. All forms and money should be returned to school by the morning of the 14th June.
