Snow Update!

As you are aware, we were forced to close on Friday due to the heavy snow we received early in the morning. We always aim to try and keep the school open and don't take the decision to close lightly, but it was clearly not safe to open under these circumstances. I hope this closure did not cause too much inconvenience and you managed to have some quality family 'snow time' over the last few days!

As for this coming week, I inspected the site today and even though there is still substantial snow on the ground, I am hopeful we can open tomorrow for business as usual. Paths have been created and salted giving safe routes from the school gates to each of the main entrances. In addition, the pavement from the start of the lane to the school gates has been cleared. The roads and lane remain icy (and are likely to be more so in the morning following another very cold night) so please take extra care if you are bringing your children in by car. Obviously, children should be dressed for the weather (thick coats, jumpers, hats scarves etc as well as footwear appropriate for the snow) as it is forecast to stay below freezing all day.

Should conditions worsen over night, we will follow exactly the same procedure as last week. I will be in school from 7.00am and a final decision will be made (and sent out via text) by no later than 7.30am.  In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of our snowy school below. Should you have any images of the fun you've been having over the last few days, please share them with us by tweeting them to @ffynnontafpri or emailing them to head.ffynnontafpri@rctednet.net - the best ones will be added to our snow blog!
