Parking

Unfortunately, we have had a growing number of cases of parents using the lane at the side of the school (as well as the staff car park) to drop off and collect children. This culminated in a near accident last week when a young child ran in front of a car after being collected from school. I would like to remind parents that the lane and the staff car park are out of bounds from 8.45am until 9.15am and again between 2.45pm and 3.30pm. This is for obvious safety reasons that I'm sure you can appreciate.

As an added precaution, and to ensure there are no repeats of last week's incident, the lane will be coned off during these times. The only access to the school for drop off and pick up should be through the pedestrian gate at the start of the lane. I understand that lack of parking in the area makes this a frustrating time of day but the safety of all the children must be our first priority.

Work will commence on the new classroom during the Easter holidays and a large section of the playground in front of the existing shed will be fenced off to make a safe site. Obviously, new procedures for collection and drop off will apply from the start of next term until the works are completed. We are currently discussing possible procedures and I will write to you before the Easter holidays with precise instructions for each class.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
