PACT Week

As you are probably aware, we will be holding our first PACT (Parents And Children Together) week straight after the Easter holiday; Tuesday 3rd May – Friday 6th May. The idea of PACT is to give every child the opportunity to take part in a lesson or activity with a parent or guardian. Following last year’s successful ‘Healthy Week’ we have decided to combine this with PACT and all sessions during the week will be linked to PE.

Children and parents of classes 1, 2 and 3 will have the opportunity to complete a ‘Play to Learn’ activity while those in classes 4, 5 and 6 will take part in an orienteering or outdoor problem solving session. The sessions will be supported by staff from PESS and The Forestry Commission respectively. The activities are designed to be great fun while giving parents an insight into the type of activities children complete in school as part of their learning. We plan to run an annual PACT week with a changing theme or focus each year.

Due to numbers in the school and restrictions for each session, we are only able to invite one adult per child for a session. Obviously, those parents with more than one child in the school will be invited to attend a session with each child. The children will bring home a personal invitation before the end of term that will include the day, time and nature of the activity you are invited to attend. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be available after each session.

I hope many of you will be able to take the opportunity to spend some quality learning time with your children.
