St David's Day at Ffynnon Taf

It was St David's day today and we celebrated it in true Ffynnon Taf style! Children spent the morning taking part in a variety of Welsh themed activities including designing Welsh shields, drawing daffodils, baking Welsh cakes, making miniature Welsh ladies and mind-mapping the patron saint himself! After lunch everybody got together in the hall for our very own mini eisteddfod. We had poetry recitals, drama role-plays and rousing renditions of Welsh songs - including of course the national anthem. Prizes were given for the art and craft activities completed in each class and Mr Brown (who spent his weekend judging!) announced the winners of the poetry competition. He also crowned this year's very talented 'Bard' - Tegan Komduur from Year 6. We will post her winning poem to the blog shortly. A big well done to Tegan, and also to 'Ty Coch' for winning the most house points throughout the day! Check out some of the photographs from our day below.
