Visit to Africa (3)

We all know that it is important to go to school every day and these days classrooms are very exciting and stimulating places to be in. We try to make sure that the work is interesting and meaningful, that our classrooms are bright and comfortable and that we can use the latest technology to access information and knowledge from anywhere we want to in the world.
Can you imagine what it's like for the children of Buchunya Primary? They have classes of between 60 and 100 children, teachers only have a blackboard and chalk with which to carry out their teaching and the classrooms are bare and uninteresting. The children still enjoy learning though, and listen very carefully to what they are taught. Every child has to buy his or her own exercise books and pens and they all look after these books very carefully - they carry them around with them everywhere!
Playtimes are very similar to Ffynnon Taf. The boys play football (made of banana leaves or black plastic bags and the girls play with skipping ropes (again made of banana leaves).
Photos - Empty classroom, full classroom (and it was very full!!)
